Purpose and function of the storage mat

The centre console storage mat has been designed specifically for the Porsche 911 997 Cabrio model, ensuring a perfect fit for the shape of the factory storage compartment. Its purpose is to protect the surface from scratches, dirt, and signs of daily use, as well as to improve the comfort of using the space for small accessories. The rubber surface reduces noise caused by items shifting during driving, which positively impacts the perceived quality of the interior. At the same time, the mat serves as a discreet, technical accessory that does not alter the character of the cabin while enhancing its functionality.

Construction and material properties

The element is made of rubber material, which withstands typical operational loads in the centre console area. This material:

• provides a stable base for small items,
• is easy to clean – dirt can be removed during basic interior maintenance,
• dampens minor vibrations and noise, improving acoustic comfort. Thanks to its tailored shape, the mat does not require any additional modifications or trimming – once placed in the storage compartment, it creates a cohesive, organized surface.

Benefits of use in the Porsche 911 997 Cabrio

Using the storage mat in the centre console provides a range of practical benefits for the user:

• Protection of the factory finish – reducing the risk of scuffs and scratches inside the storage compartment.
• Better organization of small accessories, such as keys, cards, or small equipment items.
• Reduction of unwanted noise while driving thanks to the flexible, rubber surface.
• Easier maintenance of cleanliness in the centre console area. This solution is particularly useful in cars where the interior is used intensively on a daily basis, and the owner wishes to maintain the neatest possible appearance of the cabin.

Condition and practical application

The offered mat belongs to the Console parts category, meaning it is an element designed for use in the central area of the vehicle's interior. As a used part, it may show signs of normal wear; however, its protective and organizational function remains intact, and installation requires no specialized modifications. In practice, installation is limited to placing the mat in the centre console storage compartment, without the need for additional fasteners. It is a quick way to improve the ergonomics and aesthetics of the Porsche 911 997 Cabrio cabin, especially in vehicles where the original mat has been removed or worn out.
