Purpose and function of the component

The right-side door lock cap is responsible for the aesthetic and technical finishing of the door handle area. It protects the lock mechanism from dirt, moisture, and mechanical damage, while ensuring a consistent look for the side of the vehicle. Thanks to its precise fit for the specific Mondeo Mk5 model, the component maintains the correct geometry and door panel lines.

Color and paint matching

The Moondust Silver Metallic - ZJ shade is a popular metallic silver paint used on many Ford Mondeo Mk5 units. Using a cap in the same color code allows for reducing or completely eliminating the need for additional painting, which shortens repair time and lowers costs. The metallic structure of the paint ensures consistent light reflection with the remaining body panels, which is significant for visually demanding renovations.

Placement on the vehicle

The component is designed for installation on the right side of the vehicle, in the door handle area. Proper placement is crucial for:

• correct fitment with the handle and door skin,
• uninterrupted operation of the lock mechanism,
• maintaining the factory body lines and panel gaps. Thanks to a design consistent with factory solutions, the installation process is predictable, and once installed, the cap creates a uniform surface with the other door components.

Characteristics as a used component

The cap comes from dismantling, which means it is a used part that retains the manufacturer's original specifications. Such components are often chosen for maintenance and post-accident repairs, where compliance with factory execution and a favorable price-to-quality ratio are important. A used body component also allows for a better match of the paint shade to the rest of the bodywork than in the case of newly painted replacements.

Application in repairs and upgrades

The right-side door lock cap is suitable both for the local replacement of a damaged part and for broader bodywork and painting tasks in the door area. It can be used for:

• repairs after collisions in the handle area,
• visual renovation of the side of the body,
• replacing missing elements after previous repairs. By maintaining the factory shape and color, it provides a practical solution for workshops and individual users who care about the consistent appearance of their car.
