Purpose and function in the locking system

The door lock actuator with cable is responsible for transferring movement from the central locking mechanism to the latch and handle in the front right door. A correctly selected component:

• ensures smooth locking and unlocking of the front passenger door,
• maintains the correct position of cables and rods within the door structure,
• reduces the risk of jamming and increased resistance when opening and closing,
• supports proper cooperation with the factory central locking system and lock cylinder. By maintaining the original design, the actuator operates in accordance with factory tolerances, which translates into stable and predictable door operation in daily use.

Construction and fitment for the front right door

The component is designed for installation in the front right door area, taking into account factory mounting points and cable routing. The actuator design has been engineered to:

• fit the original mounting holes in the door panel,
• work with the factory external and internal door handles,
• maintain proper cable tension throughout the entire range of lock operation,
• minimize play and unwanted vibrations in the locking mechanism. Such fitment facilitates installation and reduces the need for additional adjustments after replacing the component.

Benefits of using an original actuator

Using an original door lock actuator with cable in a Volkswagen Golf GTD allows for maintaining the consistency of the entire locking system. In practice, this means:

• stable operation of the central locking system without delays or accidental jams,
• proper functioning of the handles and internal latch,
• preservation of factory door operation comfort,
• reduction of wear on other mechanism components due to correct operating geometry. A used original component is a good solution for maintenance repairs when you want to preserve the factory design without the need to use replacements with uncertain fitment.

Condition, verification, and service application

The actuator comes from disassembly and is offered as a used part, which allows for economical repair while maintaining the manufacturer's original specifications. Before installation, it is recommended to perform a standard check of the mechanism for smooth operation and correct cable routing in the door guides to fully utilize the component's capabilities in daily use. If you are planning a comprehensive repair or upgrade of the door lock area in your Volkswagen and need other components from the same group, such as actuators, latches, or handle mechanisms, check the available parts in the Volkswagen internal locks and latches category.
