Purpose and function in the centre console

The centre console storage compartment is a component from the Trims, decorative strips and decorations group, responsible for the aesthetic finishing of the centre tunnel and providing additional space for small items. The design, tailored to the BMW E60 and E61, allows for installation in factory mounting points without the need for interior modifications. This element performs several key functional roles:

• organizes the space in the centre tunnel, reducing clutter in the cabin,
• masks the structural and mounting elements of the console, improving the visual consistency of the interior,
• provides convenient access to stored small items while driving.

Appearance and colour matching

The storage compartment features a black finish, consistent with the factory interior colour scheme of the BMW 5 Series E60/E61. This ensures that a uniform stylistic line of the cockpit is maintained, without differences in shades or textures that could disrupt the visual perception. The black colour is neutral and practical for daily use, effectively masking typical signs of wear. As an original BMW part, the storage compartment is precisely dimensioned to fit the centre console, which translates into stable seating, no unwanted play, and proper adherence to adjacent trims and decorative strips.

Characteristics of the used component

The offered storage compartment comes from dismantling and is a used part, which in practice means a favourable cost-to-quality ratio while maintaining the manufacturer's original specifications. Such interior components, when used correctly, retain full functionality for a long time, making them a sensible solution for repairs, replacing damaged trims, or restoring the factory look of the cabin. Choosing an original, used centre console storage compartment allows you to avoid problems typical of low-quality replacements, such as inaccurate fitment, differences in the shade of black, or incompatibility of the surface texture with other tunnel elements.

Integration with other BMW interior elements

The storage compartment is part of the centre tunnel finishing system, working in conjunction with adjacent trims, decorative strips, and decorations. A correctly selected component restores the visual and functional consistency of this area, which is important both for daily use and when reselling the vehicle, where the condition of the interior is one of the significant evaluation criteria. If you are planning a comprehensive repair or upgrade of the centre tunnel area in your BMW and need other elements from the same group, such as covers, overlays, or additional strips, check the available parts in the BMW Trims, decorative strips and decorations category.

Safe selection of used components from dismantling

When choosing used interior components and other sub-assemblies, it is worth being guided not only by price but also by the origin of the part and its compatibility with the specific vehicle equipment version. In the case of parts from dismantling, verifying the technical condition and fitment for the given model is particularly important.
