Purpose and fitment

The presented trunk side panel is designed specifically for the Gran Turismo body version after the LCI facelift, with placement in the rear left section of the vehicle. This ensures precise alignment with factory mounting points, proper edge routing relative to the trunk floor, and adjacent upholstery elements. As a result, installation is straightforward, without the need for modifications or forced fitting of the component.

Function in the luggage compartment

The black trunk side panel is responsible for the aesthetic and practical finishing of the left side of the cargo area. Its tasks include:

• covering structural body elements in the rear of the vehicle,
• visual organization of the trunk through a uniform upholstery surface,
• increasing acoustic comfort by reducing noise transmission from the wheel arch and rear body section,
• protecting cables, mounts, and other components located behind the panel. By maintaining the original geometry, the side panel works in harmony with other trunk trim elements, allowing for a consistent interior appearance and the proper function of any factory mounts and accessories.

Characteristics of the used component

The item comes from dismantling, which in practice means it is of factory origin and retains the manufacturer's original specifications. This type of part is a good choice for post-accident repairs, replacing damaged trunk upholstery, or restoring the vehicle to a near-factory condition. A used trunk side panel allows for cost reduction compared to a new component, while maintaining the correct shape, mounts, and compatibility with the specific model.

Application in BMW service and restoration

Replacing the trunk side panel on the left side is particularly important in vehicles where mechanical damage, upholstery wear, or interference with installations routed in the rear body section has occurred. Using an original trim panel facilitates:

• restoring the factory appearance of the cargo area,
• maintaining the appropriate level of interior soundproofing,
• preserving the correct alignment of the upholstery lines relative to the rear seat backrests and trunk floor. For workshops specializing in the BMW brand, such a component is a practical solution for comprehensive interior repairs and for preparing a car for sale or fleet use.
